Hase Bikes Honored with Regional Best Business Award

Gerd and Uwe Cöster (Schloemer GmbH) and Marec and Kirsten Hase (Hase Spezialräder) have been awarded the Vestischer Unternehmerpreis 2007.
This award honors »outstanding business performance for the region«. Twenty-one companies in the Emscher-Lippe region applied for the Vestischer Unternehmerpreis in 2007. Six of these made it to the final round of selection.
Companies were judged not only for their financial success but also for their training programs, the number of local jobs they have created and maintained, and their environmental protection policies. The social commitment of the company was also considered, as well as its contribution to the positive image of the region.
It seems the jury’s decision this year was more difficult than ever before. The award was shared by two companies: Schloemer GmbH in Recklinghausen and Hase Bikes in Waltrop. Schloemer GmbH specializes in health and safety in the workplace. Conveyor belts from Schloemer were employed to accelerate the demolition of the Berlin Wall.
